About Scholarships

For many years, the Manitoba Association of Optometrists (MAO) has awarded scholarships to Manitoba students enrolled in schools of optometry. These scholarships are fully funded by MAO members and are named in recognition of the contributions of Dr. A. Harry Basman, a Manitoba optometrist and the Association’s first Executive Director.
